Pormenor Vinhos: The Art of the Douro Detail
Pormenor Vinhos is the passion project of winemaker Pedro Coelho, who has been crafting elegant, expressive Douro wines since 2013.
The name Pormenor—the Portuguese word for “detail”—is more than just a label; it is the guiding philosophy behind every bottle. In a region often known for its power and intensity, Pedro chooses a different path. His wines are defined by precision, freshnes and elegance.
While the Douro is historically “red wine country,” Pedro has carved out a unique niche by specializing in white wines crafted from indigenous grape varieties. These whites are vibrant and mineral-driven, perfectly complemented by his lineup of supple, approachable reds.

PEDRO COELHO
Born into a lineage of cork producers and coopers, Pedro was perhaps destined for the vine; adding a winemaker to the family felt less like a choice and more like a natural evolution.
Though his formal education began with a degree in management, his true calling emerged while serving as a wine brand ambassador. It was here that a burgeoning interest blossomed into a deep-seated passion. Since then, Pedro has refined his craft under the mentorship of industry titans, gaining invaluable experience at Quinta do Portal and, most notably, Niepoort. It was there that he met Luis Seabra, whose vision has become a cornerstone of Pedro’s own approach.
